There’s a lot going on!
The Club AGM was held on Sunday. It turned out to be a fantastic day for shooting and we had an early use of the new club rooms that are still in construction. Congratulations to everyone who shot, with Kyle winning the raffle and walking away with a shooting bag and wine (for his parents !). Thanks to Archery Supplies , Jenny Semmler 919 Wines , and Matt Pellew for the prizes.
There were a couple of changes on the committee. Shane Moll joins the committee for the first time, taking the position as secretary. Paul Bonner has stepped down as President however will stay on as a floor member. Paul has done a fantastic job during his time as President, being the driving force behind the Club room. Michael Lange has moved from secretary to the role of President. The committee would like to thank Mark Goodyer, who has stepped down from the position of floor member, for his time on the committee. ... See MoreSee Less

A reminder to Club Members to come along on Sunday to our Handicap Shoot, last held sometime in the Dark Ages at BAC.
For those who don't quite understand what it is (to be honest thats basically everyone) , its really no different to any other shoot. However, in the depths of Archers Diary a mystical process takes place, and a handicap allowance will be added to your score once you have finished your round.
The handicap allowance gives a score that can be rated against everyone else in the club, regardless of skill level or even what round you shot (if you are a novice archer you have a real advantage in these handicap events !)
So come along on Sunday and have some fun, shoot well, and see where you rank . You never know, you may walk away with a bottle of wine or a handful of kit-kats! ... See MoreSee Less
Ok I’m in. It looks like the weather won’t e as bad as first forecast!

GSA held the inaugural Fairweather Invitational field shoot today. The BAC had two teams enter, coming away with a first and second place. Congratulations to Callan, Paul and Shane for a first place and to Matt, Craig and Michael for second place. This shoot was a mixed handicap event, with each team comprising a compound, recurve and barebow/longbow shooter. Awarding the medals was Rob and Helen Fairweather, founding members of GSA.
Thanks to GSA for rolling out great weather, a really enjoyable course and for holding a unique event. We are looking forward to returning next year. ... See MoreSee Less
Well done guys.
It was so good to have you guys down, and well done on not only fording two teams, but also walking away with some medal bling!!! Well shot! It was a real pleasure to have you guys down and we're glad you had a good day! 😉🏹🏹🏹🥇🥈
Such an enjoyable day!
Awesome work guys
And I didn't even lose an arrow today! 😂
Nice shot! What this also clearly shows is that the arrow is well clear of the bow within a fraction of a second, meaning you have no chance to influence it after release - so your setup prior to release is super important.
Is there field tomorrow? I could have come today if I’d known!
It was a brilliant day for it. Not happy with my FOUR lost arrows though! 😂
Is it tame , could you catch it ?
Want to see that at the Fairweather Invitational in two weeks time!😉🏹
They are breeding ourut there🤣🤣

The club is looking for people interested in participating in the Fairweather Invitational being held by the Great Southern Archers. This event is being held by the club that held the 2021 Iron Arrow, an event so good/tough that it literally had competitors being taken to hospital. This is your chance to participate in Australia’s only team field event. If you are interested in shooting in a mixed team event, Barebow/longbow, recurve and compound, this is the event for you.
Please check your emails for an email from the club with more information. ... See MoreSee Less

The Crossbow World Postal Shoot and the 2021 Barossa Indoor Tournament were held this weekend at the clubs indoor venue at Angaston. The Crossbow event was held on Saturday and the indoor event on Sunday. There was a good turnout to both events even with the cold Barossa Weather, Thanks for Robert Whittlesea for venturing up on Sunday to Judge.
Congrats to all of the winners of the 2021 Barossa Indoor and everyone who participated. Special thanks to the parents who sat in the cold hall and supported the shoot (a few extra bottles of wine were handed out as a thank you).

It was a really great event I just wish I knew it was going to be a longer day to get the whole shoot in. Can't wait for the next one!
The club ran a field course come and try for members who hadn't shot field before. Great turn out with everyone now excited to do a full scoring round. It was great to see some of the club's younger archers- Ian, Alix and Thomas shooting and trying the more challenging targets. They all had a go at target 6. The Barossa put on fantastic weather for the morning. ... See MoreSee Less
Great effort today everyone, it was awesome seeing you tackle the more technical targets first time out and nailing it. It was great to see you all having fun and enjoying yourselves. Looking forward to doing it again soon. 👍
Thanks heaps for showing us the ropes with the field course! It was lots of fun! We are hooked! 😁
Please run it again. I couldn’t get there as I’m interstate
Sad I had to miss this one. Apparently the kids are entitled to their own sporting events... 🙄😂
I enjoyed that course.
